WALK TO DISCOVER SAURIS

In Sauris, as in many Alpine communities, survival has always been guaranteed by the harmonious succession of agricultural, forestry and pastoral activities according to the rhythms dictated by the seasons. These activities took place both in the vicinity of the inhabited centers, and in the meadows and woods of higher altitude, up beyond the limit of the arboreal vegetation (alpine and casere pastures, malghe). A similar organization required a dense network of paths, dirt roads to connect villages, barns and huts to each other. The intertwining of the paths of the past is presented in a coordinated way, so as to allow the hiker to discover the many and suggestive aspects of the landscape and nature present in the Sauris basin. The description of the paths, grouped together and described for thematic areas, is intended to be only a general indication, to leave to the imagination and to the "leg" of the users the possibility of making the routes in a reverse way, in a ring or to combine them together will.
Walking to discover Sauris, to capture the treasures of this small mountain universe, where nature and history are fully revealed, and step by step every soul is calmed.

The routes are available both in paper version available at the tourist office located in Sauris di Sotto or viewable on mobile devices through navigation applications compatible with GPX or KML format.

After viewing the "TRAILERS MAP", go to the path chosen to download the route in GPX or KML format

AROUND PIELTINIS BETWEEN PASTURES AND PEAKS

Beyond the limit of the arboreal vegetation, extremely high pastures of high altitude are opened, thanks to the centenary care operated by the man. The pastures have a high quality of fodder that allows the pastures, radially positioned around the Monte Pieltinis, a unique dairy production.
