Hi, I’m Anna, and today I’m taking you on a fantastic adventure in the winter woods! We’ll start together from Lateis and venture towards the Frumeibn saddle, ready to discover all the secrets of nature in this season.

We will carefully observe the woods in their magnificent silence: the bare branches tracing lace against the sky and the dark green of the fir trees heavy with snow. We will listen to the muffled sounds of the forest, broken only by the crunch of our steps on the fresh snow and the whistle of the wind through the trees. Birds are rarer, but if we stand still, we might hear the call of a titmouse or the tapping of a woodpecker.

We will smell the sharp scent of the frosty air, of cold resin, and of the damp earth hidden beneath the white blanket. We will discover how plants and trees manage to withstand the frost, many in a deep sleep, waiting for spring. If we look closely, the snow becomes a book to read: we might find the clear tracks of a passing fox, a roe deer, or a hare searching for food!

It will be an adventure to become true friends of the forest and learn to respect it!
