A rewarding hike thanks to the authentic character of the route, which winds through the alpine pastures of Sauris at the end of the summer season. The meadows take on the golden hues of autumn and the air turns crispideal conditions for ascending the panoramic summit of Torondon, which offers sweeping views across much of the Carnic Alps.
We will set off from the parking area near the Eimblateribn refuge, making our way up to the Rinder Perk saddle and passing close to the Pieltinis alpine pasture. After reaching the *malga* (mountain hut), we will continue along a dirt track to Forcella Jelma; from there, we will hike off-trail to reach the summit at 2,019 meters. The return journey follows the same route.
