Malga Malins
Malga Malins welcomes you at 1,672 metres, on the ridge climbing from Sauris towards Val Pesarina. Here you’ll find mountain cheese made the traditional way, a hearty meal and, if you fancy staying over, a bed for the night.
At 1,672 metres, on the ridge linking Sauris to Val Pesarina, Malga Malins welcomes you with all the authenticity of a genuine Carnic mountain hut. The building was recently renovated, but it has kept its original architecture, so the charm of these mountain dairies remains intact.
You can reach it on foot or by 4×4: from Sauris di Sopra, head up towards Casera Festons and continue along the track (CAI trail 204), or approach from the Val Pesarina side. Along the way, the Anello delle Malghe Pieltinis trail offers views of the Dolomiti Pesarine, and just a short walk from the hut lies the small Malins lake, home to newts among its rich aquatic vegetation.
Here you can taste cheese made on site, stop for a hearty mountain meal and, if you like, stay the night to experience the silence and slow pace of alpine life. It’s also a great stopping point for anyone exploring the area’s trails by mountain bike.
